Hi everyone,
I'm currently looking at jNetPcap (and jNetStream) for usage in a product of ours.
I'm running a amd64 Ubuntu (Lucid) with Java 1.6.
I wanted to ask two questions:
- Is there a ready-available 64 bit package hidden somewhere?
- If not: is there a clear, successful way of compiling the source on a 64 bit machine?
For the latter:
I've been trying to compile the 2.0 and the 1.3 branches, but have absolutely no luck.
The biggest error message that seems to pop up is
"
I'm not sure what to make of that
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Dieter
I'm working on 1.4 build right now. It comes with x86_64 packages. It'll be ready in a few days.
As to compiling from source, not sure what that error is, since I no nothing about your build environment. Here are some instructions though if you haven't seen them yet:
That's very good to hear.
I did see the prerequisites, and other threads, but I won't go into that and my errors right now.
We are going to put this on hold over here, till the x86_64 packages are out.
Looking forward to them. And ofcourse: Thanks Mark! (for the quick response, and the project as a whole)
Cheers,
Dieter
Hi,
Is there any news on the 64-bit packages so far?
Cheers,
Dieter
Working on the release right now.
Thanks for the 1.4 release!
It could be that I'm completely looking over it, but is it possible that there is no 64 bit package with the new release?
Is it post-poned or something?
Cheers!
Dieter
Oops. Sorry. Its there now.
jnetpcap-1.4.b0004-1.linux.amd64.tgz
